Federal law requires that child support guidelines be reviewed by the state at least once every four years to “ensure that their application results in the determination of appropriate child support award amounts,” as promulgated by 42 U.S.C. section 667(a). In compliance, California has adopted a guideline found at its Family Code sections 4050–4076. Therefore, the Judicial Council is soliciting proposals from highly qualified proposers with expertise in the evaluation of child support guidelines to pursue its mandate to periodically review the statewide uniform guideline to recommend to the Legislature appropriate revisions.
The RFP will result in an award for a one-year contract.
